What to see

  • Tembo Deck (350 m): on clear days you can see across the Kanto Plain. It has a cafe and the ticket booth for the Galleria.
  • Tembo Galleria (445–450 m): the highest observation deck. You walk up a gentle slope to the top point, Floor 450.
  • 634 m: the height that earned the world's-tallest-tower title.

History

The tower was designed to be the tallest free-standing broadcasting tower and its height was set at 634 m. Guinness World Records certified it as the world's tallest tower on 17 November 2011. The number 634 can be read as "Musashi", the old name of the Tokyo area.

Use Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line or Oshiage (Skytree) Station on the Hanzomon Line; the tower is connected directly to Oshiage. The official site says it takes about 5 minutes from Asakusa and about 20 from Tokyo Station.
