  • Bell of Heaven: a bell facing Mt. Fuji that you can ring and photograph.
  • Rabbit shrine: a small shrine praying for the safety of hikers and visitors, guarded by two stone rabbits instead of the usual lion-dogs.

Seasons

  • Autumn leaves at the summit peak in early to mid November; hydrangeas usually in mid-July to early August.

History

The mountain is said to be the setting of the folktale "Kachi-kachi Yama" retold by the writer Osamu Dazai. Tanuki (raccoon dog) and rabbit figures decorate the gondolas and the deck.
